A Late Afternoon Drive

Last night I was doing some homework when I started to notice my throat was starting to hurt. Within 5 minutes I felt like I had a full-fledged cold. It was awful. It came on faster than any sickness ever has. Maybe that means it will leave faster too? Hopefully.

I decided to go to bed early but didn't think to take any medicine. I was awake the entire night. When Josh got up at 6am for work it finally dawned on me that I should see what medication we have to take. I took some Nyquil around 6:30 and slept until 12. What really stinks is my early morning class I had today is only once a week and today we had a guest speaker. I missed it. My second class was all about the orphanages in Romania which I was excited to learn more about. I missed it. And in my night class we got our quizzes back and got our reviews for the exam. I missed it.

I HATE missing school. It's the worst. Especially in college. You miss one day and you feel so behind and lost. It's so frustrating and I try hard never to miss, but I just couldn't do that to myself today.

I woke up at 12 feeling completely awful (Josh was still at work). I laid around on the couch reading Harry Potter here and there (reading makes my headaches worse) until Josh got home at 3. I am so thankful for a wonderful husband who takes good care of me when I'm sick (and all the other times too). He brought me chicken noodle soup and sourdough bread from Kneaders. Delicious. We watched Mad Men and I laid around some more.

Around 5 I took an hour long bath to help clear up my sinuses a bit and get warm (I've been goose bumpy all day). After my bath Josh and I took a drive through the city. We drove up to Josh's uncle's house and back down. On the way down we passed the Nielson's house where Mr. Nielson getting home with his daughters. It felt pretty surreal seeing them since I read Stephanie's blog every day. After driving up that way we headed down towards the airport. We kept the windows down and enjoyed the fall air. It was very much needed. It's the worst when you're cooped up all day in the house and all you have to think about is how sick you feel. I swear it just makes it worse.

Hopefully I'll be feeling better tomorrow because whether I am or not I am going to this...

I can't wait!!
