Piper at 6 Months

Well, it happened. Piper turned six months old. Why? Why do the first few months go so stinking fast? Well, it's been a wonderful six months. I feel like Piper has always been a part of our family.

This month Piper . . .

learned to roll from back to front and does it constantly now. We can't keep this girl on her back.
sucks her thumb almost constantly. She won't even take her binky anymore. She prefers her thumb. Bummer, but adorable.
discovered her toes. And once she did, she never stopped playing with them.
still loves Elliott. Elliott can get a smile out of Piper anytime, anywhere.
is becoming more of daddy's girl. She gets the biggest smile on her face when she sees him. It's so tender.
is transitioning from three naps/day to two. And still sleeps wonderfully during the night. Bless her.
is eating solids regularly. She loves eating solids so much. You'd never think she'd need anything besides my milk by the looks of her but man, she's all about those solids.

Happy half birthday Piper Gray! We love you!

Elliott is T W O and a H A L F

When did this happen? When did my sweet, giggly baby turn into a sassy, beautiful toddler? Even just six months ago, she seemed little. Now she seems so grown up.

These past 6 months have been a doozy. Since her birthday, she has discovered a strength within herself. A determination to go against my will and be her own self. It's part of this stage of life, but gosh darn it, it's difficult. But I am so thankful for her spunky attitude, and we are learning together how to best manage it.

At two and a half Elliott . . .

can recite her ABC's
recognizes all 26 of the letters
can count to 14
recognizes numbers 0-10
loves to sing songs
can throw one heck of a tantrum
adores being an older sister. She especially likes bringing Piper toys and pushing her around in her baby stroller
loves reading books (as always) and will now recite a few of her favorites on her own
loves climbing and jumping all over everything in our house
loves pizza and any type of juice
eats a peanut butter and jelly sandwich for lunch every. single. day. (her request)
talks non-stop and has started picking up on a lot of our common phrases (some of my favorites include: oh my goodness, oh shoot, oopsie daisies, good choice and holy cow)
loves her daddy. Her favorite game involves jumping all over him while he lies on the floor
loves Daniel Tiger and one of her favorite toys is her trolley with Daniel, O the Owl, Katerina Kittycat and Miss Elaina (who Elliott calls Toots)
pretend plays all the time (we often hear her playing pretend mommy and daddy, going to the doctor, shopping, playing out random phone conversations and playing at the park)

I've decided to start doing an interview with Elliott every six months. I want to use the same questions each time and see how they change over time. So here is her first interview.
