A couple of videos

I had a couple of cute videos on my phone that I had to share!

Enjoy!

Trying to laugh!

Eating solids. So cute!

5 months!

I can't believe Elliott is already 5 months old! She is as adorable as ever and learning new things every day!

This month she discovered her feet. It's actually really nice because she always has a toy attached to her now. She chooses to play with her feet over other toys. It's adorable.

This month she also started laughing. I posted in her 4 month post that she laughed for some random lady at the airport. Well, just a few days ago, we finally got her to laugh again! She has done it a couple times since, and I just can't wait until it's a more frequent occurrence.

Elliott is officially eating solids now! She had solids one time while we were in SC, but she has solids every day now. She has had squash, rice cereal, peas, sweet potatoes, bananas and apricots. She is so cute. She gets so excited and opens her mouth and as soon as the food hits her tongue she makes a face. But then, she acts as though she forgot about it just seconds later and happily opens her mouth again. She cracks me up.

Elliott has mastered the belly to back roll. She has been doing it for over a month now, but she always needed our help by putting her hands up in front of her. Now, it doesn't matter how you lay her down, she will pull her hands up, push up and roll over. She is so cute. She is also getting really close to rolling from back to belly. She gets so far on her side but just doesn't quite push over.

She is so interested in everything now. I am still trying to get used to the fact that she will reach and grab things around her. I used to stick her in the bumbo with stuff all around her but now I have to be careful about what's next to her, because she will grab it! The other day I was sewing and I turned around and she had tipped over a cup of water. She is so curious and wanting to touch everything. I carry her around in my carrier when I clean the house and she used to just relax her arms down but now she is constantly reaching out trying to grab anything she gets close to. I love it! She is having so much fun exploring and learning about the world!

Elliott has become so much more independent, which has been so nice for me. During the day I can put her on the floor with some toys and she roll from side to side playing with her toys, where before she wanted to be held all the time. I can get a lot more done! And our play together is so much more meaningful and I really feel like she's learning and trying to figure things out.

Elliott is obsessed with faces right now. Just last week she started touching our faces. And now if she is close to our face, she will grab it. Lips, nose, eyes, whatever she can get a handle on. I love it though, because she will look right in my eyes and grab at my face. It's like her own little way of saying she loves us. Or at least, I think so. :)

[oh those rolls!]

[Gotta get those toes!]

And here is a cute video of our shoot today!

Happy 5 months baby girl!

Sledding

Provo has been getting absolutely dumped on with snow this week. It's coming down like crazy as I type this. So yesterday we decided to go sledding with Morgan and Jenn and the kids. Since is was fresh powder, it wasn't fast or crazy, but we still had a ton of fun and we got some great pictures! Elliott was being adorable!

Here's a cute video from our afternoon!

4 Months

While we were in South Carolina, Elliott turned 4 months old! Since we were over there, I didn't take pictures or blog about it. So she's technically 4 months and like 12 days old in these pictures. Whoops.

Elliott has changed so much since we left for our trip. She has always been fun, but she is so much fun now. She is smiling all the time. Before, we had to try so hard to get a smile out of her. Now you just have to look at her and she gets this big, open-mouth grin. She also started bouncing recently. She has been able to bear her weight for some time, but now she bounces up and down on her legs when you stand her up. It's adorable...and so fun. Her eye contact has also grown leaps and bounds in the last couple weeks. She really locks in on you now. She did that before, but it's just different now. She will turn her head as far as it will go to find whoever is talking and lock eyes with them, for a long time. She is continually getting better at grabbing things. Where she used to just grab things that were put right in front of her, she now leans her whole body into it. When I was working at Kneaders in December, I started noticing it. I would be tying bows on baskets and she would leeeean forward and try to grab the ribbon. I'm almost to the point where I can't eat with her on my lap, because she tries to grab my stuff!

She is rolling from her tummy to her back (I'll post a video soon). And she is getting better at sitting up (we practice every day). When we were in SC she sat up on her own for over 2 minutes! That was a lot longer than usual. Usually she only lasts 10-15 seconds. But she's getting better!

Elliott also laughed for the first time! It was funny because when we were in SC Josh's twin sisters, Hannah and Chandler, were making fun of us and saying we weren't funny enough because Elliott hasn't laughed yet. Well, we were in the airport on our way back home and some random lady made her laugh! They were right! We aren't funny! We've been trying so hard, but we've yet to get her to laugh again. It was the cutest sound I've ever heard though. I can't wait until she is laughing all the time!

Now, enjoy some pictures of our sweet girl! And finally, some smiling ones!

And of course, some crying ones.
What can I say, she hates clothes...

Happy 4 months Elliott! We love you!

Birth Announcement

Welcome to earth Elliott Faye

We love you so much already.

Elliott's first solids

While we were in South Carolina, we thought it would be fun to pick up some baby food and let Elliott try it. I don't intend on starting her on solids quite yet, but we thought it would be fun to see her reaction. We chose squash. Not too sweet and not too...not sweet. Haha. She didn't seem to particularly enjoy it, but she didn't hate it! She was so cute.

SC post Myrtle Beach

We got back from Myrtle Beach on New Years day. We found out the next morning that Laurie's mom's husband, Jim, would be pulled off life support later that day. So Laurie packed a bag and headed to Spartanburg to be with her mom. While she was gone we all just hung out around the house. The twins, Morgan and Josh did some cleaning jobs for their parents and we watched lots of movies and shows. While Laurie was gone we didn't have a lot of food in the house so we ate out a lot. Haha. You know how it goes when mom's gone.

I also took Elliott to the doctor because she was grabbing at her ears a bunch and she was still pretty miserable from her cold. Turns out she just had a cold, but she is also teething! No teeth yet, but lots and lots of teething. Poor baby.

On Thursday we made plans to head up to VA to see my sister and her family for Friday and Saturday! We rented a car and were all set.

On Thursday evening I was feeling a little sick, so I went to bed early. I woke up a few hours later feeling like I needed to throw up. I then spent the next 8 hours throwing up. It was terrible. About 4 hours into it, Josh started throwing up. So we took turns running to the bathroom, or using the trash can in our bedroom. Terrible, really, really terrible. That morning I went to find someone to watch Elliott so I could sleep. Turns out Bronson had it too! So we figured it must have been food poisoning. All day Friday I felt miserable. Josh got over it really quick but I just couldn't get off the couch. I was so upset because we couldn't go to Virginia. I was seriously so, so bummed. We rented a car and everything! Since we weren't going to VA, we would be able to attend Jim's memorial service though, (he passed away Thursday around 2:30am). So Saturday we got up and headed to Spartanburg for the memorial. It was really nice. I still wasn't feeling too hot, but survived the day okay. On Sunday morning Josh and I woke up to the sound of Elliott throwing up. Poor girl. I figured (since I thought it was food poisoning) that she had gotten it through my milk. But then I found out that Morgan had been throwing up all that morning too. So, it seemed that it wasn't a bug after all.

What a rough couple of days. Josh was really bummed because he was so excited to take Elliott to his old ward and show her off. But since she was throwing up, I didn't want to take her. So we spent Sunday taking it really easy, again. Sunday night was supposed to be Kate's blessing but Morgan was so sick that they didn't do it. They did it on Monday instead. It was a beautiful blessing and Kate looked adorable.

Getting ready. I love Kate's face!

Such a beautiful dress. Laurie's mom sewed it by hand years ago. It's so delicate.

So cute!

Love this picture!

Perfect! Just need Max out of the background. Ha!

Kate, Jenn and her mom. They look so much alike!

Everybody that was there. Poor little Kate was done with pictures!

Also on Monday we went to Mellow Mushroom. I was so worried we weren't going to be able to go since we had all been sick and we were running out of time, but it worked out! Kind of...Jenn, Jane and Kate weren't there. We missed them! Jenn spent most of Monday with her family because her mom took work off to spend time with her. So I don't blame her for missing out.

Being silly at Mellow.

Mighty Meaty

Thai pizza. Yum!

Monday night we all relaxed because Tuesday we left! On Tuesday our flight wasn't until 5:45pm, so we got to relax a little in the morning. We flew out of Spartanburg, so we had planned on going up there a little early and taking a five generation picture with Josh's great grandma, GiGi, his grandma, his mom, him and Elliott, but Laurie was sick! That bug spread like wild fire! How terrible. So Bronson took us to the airport instead. Elliott did awesome on both planes again. Our second plane was delayed almost 3 hours because the bathrooms weren't working. But we did make it home eventually!

We had such a wonderful time in South Carolina, despite all the sickness. Thanks to the whole Titus family for making it so, so wonderful! Merry Christmas and happy new year everyone!
