New Place Reveal

Guess what? Our new place is officially finished. I can't tell you how happy this makes me. It hasn't really felt like home to me until this last week when things finally started going up on the walls and we really started putting the finishing touches on everything. 

Last night we had a little house warming party with some close friends. It was a lot of fun. It was pretty much our closest friends who showed up so most of them had seen our place pretty recently, but there were some things that they hadn't seen yet. We made dinner for everyone. Josh made steaks on the grill and I made two huge batches of macaroni and cheese and a bunch of fried vegetables with bread. Everything was a big hit. Then we took them all to Kneaders for dessert. It was a great night. I love hosting parties. :) Afterwards we went over to Jacob and Valerie's to play games since they needed to put Jack to bed. We played Bang! (Thanks to Alyson and Nathan for introducing us to it). 

I feel like I've been posting about our place being almost done for so long now, but hopefully this will be the last one! Of course we'll keep adding things (we always do) so I'll post about them as we add them, but the place is pretty much done.

Well, there you have it folks. Our home. We are so in love with it and I am so happy with Elliott's room. I can't wait to have her so she can be in it. It's so cozy and inviting, I love to just sit in there. I like to sit in the glider with just the lamp on and read books to her. We are going to read a lot of books...!

38 weeks!

Well, it's official, I am full term today! 38 weeks. Pretty exciting. I thought I would do a quick update on how things are going. Honestly, not a lot is happening. I can definitely tell that it's getting closer to her time of arrival. Physically, things just feel different. It's hard to explain. There is a lot more pressure overall and I've been having a few really small Braxton Hicks. They come and go and they really aren't anything to get excited about. I could honestly see her staying in another 3 weeks. I'm going to the Dr. every week now but I told them I preferred not be checked at this last appointment. I just don't see the need. It seems pretty unnecessary. So as far as I know I'm still 2cm and 50% effaced. Haha. Those numbers really don't mean a lot to me. She'll come when she's ready, is what I figure. 

I am pretty much exhausted all the time now. I'm still working. This week is my last week at work though! Hooray. I'm so excited to be done working and just be a stay-at-home mom. Her nursery is almost finished. I just have a few final touches to add before it's ready. Of course I will post pictures when it's all finished. 

Josh and I went to IKEA last weekend to get a bunch more furniture and went back yesterday to get a few more things. I honestly think we only have 2 more small things to buy before we're done! Now it's a matter of getting all the decor up on the walls and making it look adorable. It's quite the work in progress. But we are loving our new place more and more everyday. It's really just perfect for us.

Kneaders Night at Trafalga

Josh and I love our coworkers. They are all so fun. That's what you get when you live in a University city. Everyone is young and fun! One of our coworkers planned a fun night for everyone to go up to Lehi to Trafalga. It's a giant fun center with an arcade, bumper boats, lazer tag, go-karts, mini-golf, etc. We had never been, and it was a lot of fun. Being 8 months pregnant I figured there wouldn't be too much I could do, but I actually did quite a bit. We bought a family pass so we each got so many points toward the big stuff and then we each got so many tokens toward the arcade games and we all got free dip-n-dots. It was a really good deal. Plus we stayed so late that there weren't any lines and none of the workers punched our cards. So I'm pretty sure everyone (but me) went on way more than they were allowed to. We started in the arcade since it was so busy, everything had huge lines. One thing you should know about me, is that I love arcades. I go a little crazy. I think my coworkers thought I had lost my mind. I was literally running from game to game trying to win as many tickets as I could. Jenn, you might remember this side of me at Nickel City. :)

But I ended up getting over 300 tickets from like 12 tokens! I was pretty proud. Not that I bought anything cool with them, but I just like the feeling of winning. We signed up for lazer tag next. After we had already signed up I saw a big sign that said pregnant women couldn't play. What? That's dumb. So I went anyway. I didn't put myself in any danger. There weren't any obstacles on the floor, and it wasn't that dark. We were all sitting in a room watching a video before we started and so I just put my knees up in front on my big ol' belly when he came to punch my card. Ha. So sneaky. Lazer tag was probably one of my favorite parts. It was so fun. And our team won! Go team Kneaders! 

After lazer tag everyone wanted to do go-karts. That was the one thing I couldn't do. I just watched and took pictures. They were pretty hilarious all racing each other. Once it got dark we played mini-golf. It was really fun. Although it got pretty exhausting (it was a long course!). There was one hole that had a big hen house with a little ramp for the eggs that said delivery. We might have taken a pretty awkward/hilarious picture of Josh and I in front of it. I'll have to get my hands on it, someone else took it. Golf was really fun though. I was beating everyone on my team until the very last hole. Then I got 5 and they all got hole-in-ones. I was so mad. I might have thrown my club....maybe. Oh well. Everyone went on Go-Karts again and before we left we did the bumper boats. It's nothing like bumper cars (you can barely feel the impact between boats because they are basically on big intertubes). It said no pregnant women, but the guy didn't say anything, so I took advantage of that. We got completely soaked. They spray each other and we all promised not to spray each other too much. Ha. Didn't happen. It felt so good though because it was so stinking hot outside! 

Overall, it was such a fun night with really fun people!
