Happy New Year! Yikes. I've been keeping up with Piper's updates and Elliott's adorable sayings, but that's about it. And today, I realized I hadn't emptied my phone since the beginning of January. It's cool, only 1,300 pictures...

So these next few posts are major catch up posts! 
As you might recall, my mom was here for Christmas. It was such a wonderful break from the monotony of life. Josh works ridiculous hours at work, so having someone to hang out with 24/7 while he's away was glorious! We had a wonderful time. New Years was uneventful (Josh closed that night so we rung in the new year over the phone while he was driving home). And since then, it's just been back to normal life. 

A few things:
  • My sister was so sweet and sent Josh and I their old Fitbits! We love them. My sister and I check in with each other everyday and have goals we are working towards. So fun having a buddy to keep me accountable. 
  • Josh had a couple xrays and an MRI on his right ankle at the beginning of year. They found multiple self-healed fractures and some crazy loose ligaments. And from compensation of the loose ligaments in the ankle, his calf muscles were really tight. So he scheduled surgery for mid February to get his ankle ligaments tightened and his calf loosened.
  • Elliott has been quite the handful, but we've been finding ways to deal with the terrible twos in the best ways we can. It doesn't help that winter keeps us cooped up in the house so much.

She always looks so comfortable while she sleeps. How can I not just curl up next to that and sleep??

One day Elliott asked if she could push Piper around in her baby stroller. Why not? It was a huge hit.

Hitting the rec center in the middle of winter is always fun! And it was Piper's first time "swimming"




She was really happy the whole time.

Loving all the smiles we get these days!

Running errands one day. Elliott fell asleep in the car while eating a Costco hotdog. 

Elliott will periodically pose herself and ask me to take a picture. Adorable.

Elliott has also started taking pictures with my phone. She's not bad!

Piper's favorite way to do tummy time is across my lap or belly.

One day while Google chatting with our friends Elliott fell off the dining room chair and busted her lip. Poor thing.


Elliott and Jack are the cutest! Out to dinner for Val's birthday.

She adores him.

Playing Settlers for Val's birthday. I took this picture because of how sad it was. I was red. Guys, this is a big deal. Morgan is always red. But since they moved, I had to be red. It may not seem like a big deal, but it was. Just trust me.



Piper is so patient with Elliott. Haha.

Learning about Noah's Ark for FHE. Elliott is Noah and those are her animals in her ark. She LOVED it. So cute.

Piper's 4 Months

Wow. Just wow. I can't believe that in just 2 short months, Piper will have been with us half a year! Time is going too fast. I am doing my best to soak up every second with this chunky sweetie. Too much cuteness that I don't want to miss out on. :)

At 4 months Piper:


  • is grabbing toys and bringing them to her mouth
  • continues to adore her sister and smiles the biggest for her
  • let us enjoy a couple of her sweet giggles
  • loves tummy time 
  • loves being naked
  • loves the bath (even the fussiest of days is calmed by a warm bath)
  • can roll from front to back  (but would rather just play on her belly)
  • plays with her hair to calm herself down
  • loves to nap with mommy 
We sure love you Piper Gray!

Here we go again!

E: "I ride big donkey!"

E: "I drink Jesus milk. I drink milk Jesus all the day..."

Me (yelling to Elliott): "Elliott, how is Piper?"
E: "Um, welly good. We playing together."

{Trying to get Elliott out of the tub}
Me: "Elliott, time's up."
E: "No, I playing. Play tiny minute."

E: "Daddy, my big hug you?"
Such a sweetie.

{While walking around Wal-Mart}
E: "No like dis store. Too yucky."
Haha. I feel ya, Elliott.

E: "1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 9.   4 balloons!"
We're working on that...

Me: "Okay, it's time to calm down."
E: "I NO CALM!!!"

{Being super picky over which underwear to wear}
Me: "Why do you want these underwear?"
E: "Because, because I love them!"

{After knocking her entire container of beads on the floor}
E: "Oh my dang it!"

{After asking Elliott to fetch something for me and her bringing it to me}
E: "Oooh, big choice mom, big choice!"
I'm guessing she meant good choice. But I like big choice better. :)

And lastly, Elliott has started saying, "Oh my goodness" all the time. It is so adorable coming out of her little toddler mouth. So sweet!

Out of the Mouth of Elliott #2

{While looking through an I Spy book and spotting a woman in a long, white robe}
E: "Look, a Jesus mommy!"
Apparently mommy's can be Jesuses too. Haha!

{While creating a conversation between two dolls}
E: "Hey girl, sit right here girl."

{As I'm stepping out of the shower and drying off}
E: "Whoa, bbbiiiiigggg bum! My small bum. Mommy haves big bum."
Thanks Elliott. Thanks a lot.

{Talking to me as I enter her room after her nap}
E: "I awake. And I peed. Gross"
She is still in diapers during nap and night time. Good thing too. 

{At Costco, getting drinks with our hotdog combos}
Me: "Do you want lemonade or rootbeer?"
E: "I want beer, mom. No soda. Beer."
Good thing nobody overheard that one. 

Leaving Costco. Long day of grocery shopping.

{Trying on a hat that my mom made for her last Christmas that looks similar to a Santa hat}
E: "Look! My hat-a-claus!" 
Very clever. 

{Playing on the bed with mom and dad one morning}
Josh: "Whoa. You're hyper!"
E: "I not hyper! I Elliott!"

{In conversation about how she loves her little sister and I jokingly asked her if she wanted another baby in our family}
Me: "Should we have another baby?"
E: "Yeah! A green one!"
No clue. Don't ask.

{Josh was holding Elliott and she was grabbing his face and trying to get his attention}
E: "Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey."
Josh turns his head towards Elliott. 
E: "I love you."

And lastly, just something adorable she says regularly. She calls the game of football, football. Duh. But when referring to the ball in football . . . it's a "football ball". Makes sense to me!
