On the Wednesday before Thanksgiving, just before leaving town to meet Josh and head to VA to visit my sister, I had a feeling that I might be pregnant. I'd been feeling like I might be for several days, but with Josh commuting between Columbia and Simpsonville, I didn't really bring it up. Plus, I thought I was being crazy. But, I knew I didn't want to spend the whole trip wondering, so we hit up Walmart on our way out of town and grabbed a test. I then proceeded to take that test in the Walmart bathroom. Super memorable. Haha.
Turns out, I wasn't crazy. It was positive. I'm not going to lie, I was in complete shock. Even though I thought I might be pregnant, I still couldn't believe it. It was also the first time I'd taken a test without Josh there so I had this huge secret and I couldn't wait to tell him, but I had to tell him in person. I drove to Simpsonville and met him at Morgan and Jenn's house so that we could head to VA together. I had been working on plans for our Christmas card and had told him I was eager to show him so I quickly added a line at the end of the card that said, "Baby #3 due July 2017". When I got there, I asked him to look it over and see what he thought. At first, I wasn't sure he was going to notice it, but he did. It was kind of fun surprising him. Especially since we weren't exactly "trying" to get pregnant. I don't think he actually believed me at first! But it was real. Very real. And he was over the moon!
The first trimester was hard this go around. My sickness wasn't much worse than with the other two girls, but trying to plan for a new house, pack up all your belongings, move to a new house in a new city, unpack a house, clean a house, paint an entire house and do a million small home improvement projects all while you're feeling super sick just isn't fun. Josh definitely picked up the slack with just about everything during December and January. He was such a life saver and we are thrilled to be expecting another baby this summer!
