It's free? Well sure!

A few months back my sister introduced me to the couponing world. With the inspiration of her blog where she laid out her strategies and with the suggestions of what sites to hit, I started "couponing." The reason I put it in quotes is because I really haven't used any coupons yet. When I started it in July/August we had pretty much no money and were living with Josh's family so we didn't grocery shop or spend money really at all. So I browsed the websites, found things that I liked and most importantly, took advantage of the free stuff. A lot of the coupon websites will list out what special offers stores are having or tell you about opportunities to try samples of new products for free. So I figured, what the heck, right?

I used these websites to get started.

Hip2Save

Hip2Save was where I found most of the free stuff and by following links to other websites I ended up in all kinds of fun places. So first off, I found a deal for free gum! I love gum, so why not.  All you provide is your email and address and they'll send it. The reason? The gum isn't on the market yet, so they want people to try it and review it. Well, I loved it! The flavor? Mint with Melon Accents. It's called Dentyne Pure and it is designed to purify your breath. Well, it was free and it was delicious so what's the harm? It came just days after I signed up.

Next I found that RiteAid was doing a deal for a free 8x10 collage. Again, why not. The only thing I had to do was pick it up. So I used pictures from last Christmas of the Titus family when we had the photographer and picked this up.

That day I also found that MyCoke Rewards was giving away free points and it was just enough points to get a free 20oz. coke. So I signed up for MyCoke Rewards and got this in the mail.

And lastly, I found that US Airways was doing a deal that if you signed up for their frequent flyer miles you got 1,500 points for free. What a deal! So I signed up (which just included  basic information) and used my points for a free magazine subscription (since we never fly US Airways). I ordered Entertainment Weekly. So I got an entire year's subscription for free.

So it's been pretty fun so far. I haven't spent a penny and I've got some cool stuff. At least I think so...

**If you decide to start couponing or giving away information to websites, I have just one suggestion. Set up an email just for that. Mine? dannatitus.junk@gmail.com. That way my normal email doesn't get bogged down with junk from all over the place**
