And it will be special for a number of other reasons, but since that part is a surprise, I won't reveal it until later. But today I decided to start working on my cake skills. I have always thought making cakes with fondant looked like fun and after finding out that you can make fondant out of marshmallow, I was really excited to try it. So that's what I did tonight. I started with cupcakes and a very small batch of fondant just to see what it was like and get a feel for the consistency.
It turned out great. I made a little batch of purple fondant and using some cookie cutters and my own rolling skills I just made four cupcakes. They're super simple, and not that cute, but I'm really excited to start making more and work my way up to a full-blown cake!
I want to make at least one cake before I tackle Josh's since it's going to be pretty extensive. So I'll let you know when I do that one. But here's what I did tonight.
Haha. So that's it. But it's a start right? The marshmallow fondant is super easy to roll out and handle. But I most warn you. It is incredibly MESSY. There are a couple reasons why. First, the marshmallow is sticky. And second, because the marshmallow is so sticky you have to coat the counter and your hands in crisco. It sounds disgusting...and well, it is :)

Man that's awesome Danna!!! I bet the cake you make for Josh is going to look GREAT!!
