Coughs and Sniffles

That's all you hear around our house lately. I have been sick for 5 days now and I am ready to be better. I am almost all the way better, except for the coughs and sniffles. And by sniffles I mean large amounts of disgusting gunk coming out my nose. Sorry, but it's true.

One great thing about being sick is all the snuggles and kisses I get though :) Josh loves to take care of me when I'm sick. Friday I was feeling particularly sick and he made me taco salad for dinner. Yum, right? We also had homemade pizza another night.

And of course, the snuggles.

[josh is actually asleep on ambien in this picture, haha]

When I'm sick Josh is also more likely to play games with me! We played UNO, Phase 10 and poker this weekend (yes, just the two of us and no, not strip).

We laughed and laughed over my stupid poker face. I can't hide from Josh whether my cards are good or bad. I just can't.

Overall, though I was sick, I had a great weekend with my favorite person in the world :)

I'll leave you all with this...a tribute to me, from AJ (ambien josh).

Life as of Lately

Unfortunately I have no pictures to share. Sorry.

But, I will tell you what we've been up to lately. It's been a fun week! Josh's mom got in town on Friday afternoon. Fortunately, Josh, me and Kendal all had Friday night off work so we went to Cafe Rio for dinner with us and Morgan and Jenn of course. It was delicious. On Saturday we went over to Morgan and Jenn's in the morning and hung out. Josh's uncle Adam and his wife Yani came to town as well so they hung out too. Sadly I had to work Saturday night so I headed off to work. On Sunday we had a BBQ at Morgan and Jenn's house. It was amazing food and such fun company. Of course baby Jane was the hit of the party. I think she will be forever...that is until we procreate ;)

On Monday Josh, me and Kendal took work off so that we could all help Morgan and Jenn pack and clean up their house for their big move out to North Carolina for the summer. It was a fun day. We went to Texas Roadhouse for dinner (delicious) and then went back to Morgan and Jenn's to watch a movie. After the movie it was like 11pm and Morgan and Jenn decided to go ahead and just leave instead of trying to sleep for 5 hours and leave at 4am like originally planned. So we waved goodbye and they were on their way (they arrived safely in Columbia today). Yesterday we drove Laurie to the airport and said farewell to her too. So almost everyone is gone. It's so sad!! And Kendal leaves in a few weeks for the summer too. But, the good news is...Joe and Karen and the kids get here in a week!!! We are so stinking excited!!! It's going to be a fabulous summer! Also, my mom and sister/kids are coming at the end of July! :) Yesssssssssss!

**i'll look for some pictures to post soon**

Debarkation and final days in Tampa

On Friday night we packed up our stuff and Saturday morning we headed out. Josh left an hour before me, Jacob and Valerie so he could go ahead and get on the shuttle to the airport, get the rental car and come pick us up. We got off the boat around 9:30am. We decided we had plenty of time to see a movie so we went to see Thor. I'm not gonna lie, I might have slept through about 75% of it. I was exhausted. But we also went the Tampa International Mall and did some shopping before dropping Jacob and Valerie off at the airport for their flight home. Josh and I didn't leave to come home until Monday night. So we had the whole weekend with the Vevea's again. We went to church on Sunday, played games and then Monday morning we headed out, hit the theaters again (this time we saw Something Borrowed), dropped by the mall (again) and then returned the car and headed home.

Our trip was so amazing. I feel so blessed that Josh and I have the had the opportunity to do so much traveling and fun vacationing before we have kids. I'll be the first to admit that we want kids (so much), but we are also enjoying our time together, continuing to get to know each other better and falling more in love.

It's nice to be back in Provo, I suppose. Josh jumped right back into work on Tuesday morning at 6am despite getting home at 1am. He's such a trooper.

On a side note, we went and saw Morgan and Jenn's little girl yesterday. Jane Titus was born on April 30 around 6pm. She was 7lbs 8oz and 21 inches long. She is absolutely perfect. She is so aware. More aware than any newborn I've ever seen. She is just so interested in the world and the people around her. She was awake probably 75% of the time we were there last night. Just looking around and making adorable cooing noises. We just love her!

Congrats Jenn and Morgan!! :) We love you guys!

Cruise Day 5

Unfortunately all good things must come to an end. Friday was our last full day on the cruise. We woke up, ate breakfast, got ready, ate lunch and then headed to the pool. Jacob, Valerie and I swam a little bit while Josh did laundry (haha) and then we all went down the slide.

After the slide Jacob and Valerie went back to their room to shower and change and Josh and I decided to just go lay out while we were wet.

We laid out for probably 3 hours. It was fabulous. There is a covered section of the serenity lounge which is where we all laid. Josh and I were both sunburned (josh more than me) and so we didn't want to lay in the sun. But it felt amazing in the shade. I read about 4 pages in my book and then fell asleep. Jacob and Valerie did the same thing. Josh never fell asleep. He just sat, read, and ate ice cream.

[josh was like a little kid eating his cone. sorry it's sideways]

After our naps and relaxing time Josh and I went back to our room to shower and get ready for our last dinner. It was sad saying goodbye to our waitress. She was the sweetest thing.

[during our last dinner the waiters, waitresses and servers sang leaving on a jet plane to us. it was so sweet.]

Friday night we went to the Candelight lounge for a little comedy/magic show. It was pretty funny. Afterwards we went to the Serenity lounge and sat in the hot tubs for a while. When they closed we went to our rooms and ordered some room service. We ate food and played some cards, which turned into Josh and Jacob competing to see who could fling cards the best/most accurate. Both Valerie and I had wanted to go dancing pretty bad so we went and found a club where there was dancing and the four of danced for a good hour. After dancing we were all really hot, sweaty and tired so we went to bed.

also, here are some pictures of our cruise ship room.
it wasn't near as bad as i expected. it was actually pretty roomy. it felt like a hotel room.

Cruise Day 4

Day 4 consisted of our second and final stop; Cozumel, Mexico. We decided not to do a shore excursion in Cozumel and to just do our own thing. We got off the boat around 11am. Our first stop was to try and find a scooter rental place. Josh had done this during his last stay in Cozumel and really enjoyed it. We found a place willing to rent them for fairly cheap and we got our scooters. Josh and I shared one and Jacob and Valerie shared one. But, Jacob hadn't driven one before and after some troubles we decided to trade the scooters in for this guy...

Our car rental man referred to this as a Mexican Ferrari. It had nearly no brakes, was completely gutted and rusted out and well, barely ran. But, it was an adventure!

We drove around the island looking for a great beach to stop at. We stopped at San Fransisco Beach. It was shops, a restaurant, a pool and the ocean had big floaty things to play on. We were excited.

Josh, Jacob and I played on those for probably 45 minutes or so. Then it started raining and so we headed back on to shore. Valerie and I both got Henna tattoos. After holding and swimming with turtles all day the day before, I wanted a turtle tattoo. It's so cute.

For those of you who don't know...a henna tattoo is semi-permanent. It lasts 2-3 weeks. Valerie got a tattoo that looked really tribal. I don't have a picture, but it's really cute.

After we got our tattoos we ate some lunch; authentic Mexican food and the spiciest salsa I have ever tasted in my life. It was delicious. By this point the rain was starting to come down pretty hard. Then we remembered, our Mexican Ferrari (aka convertible VW bug) had the top down! Good thing it was already rusted out completely...3 inches of water on the floor, no problem. We got in the car to continue our adventure around the island but we had no windshield wipers and the rain was coming down like crazy! Josh just pushed through until we got to the other side of the island and it was beautiful and sunny.

We stopped at some shops that looked promising along the beach and also took some amazing photos. It was absolutely beautiful. Josh also bought that hat, and I bought that little fishy ring!

After driving around the entire island we returned the car and started back for the ship. On the walk back to the ship we stopped in a few little shops. Valerie bought some amazing alligator skin cowgirl boots. Josh and I picked up a few little things, including matching Cozumel T-shirts. Haha.

We got back on the ship and headed straight to dinner. After dinner we hit the Karaoke bar again. Jacob wanted to sing again...so he did! He's so funny!

Hopefully you all recognize this song. It's a classic. After Karaoke there was a big deck party to celebrate Cinco De Mayo. We checked it out, but it wasn't that great so we didn't stay long.

We were all really tired so we headed back to our rooms so we could get a full day of fun in on our last day.
