Zoo and Fall Randomness

Another visit to the zoo, of course. And then just some random photos from fall.

Chalk animals one balmy afternoon!
Piper was hiding from us. Haha. I just thought it was so cute.

Halloween

Since actual Halloween was on a Monday this year, Josh was back up in Greenville for work. I decided to let the girls just pick something out of the dress up clothes to wear that night and Laurie and I took them around the neighborhood on the golf cart. They loved it. And it was over 80 degrees, so that was nice. But also weird! Haha.

Ward Trunk or Treat

Our ward trunk or treat was last weekend and we had the best time! I totally procrastinated our costumes this year. I love planning costumes but I just felt unmotivated for some reason! So, we decided on our costumes the night before and I spent the day of the trunk or treat driving around trying to find stuff and put them together. Hey, future me, don't do that again. K thanks.

But it came together nicely and we had a blast. Since the Gilmore Girls revival is coming out soon we went with Gilmore Girls as our theme. I was Lorelai, Josh was Luke, Elliott was Rory and Piper was Paul Anka, the dog. It was so much fun. Not everyone got the costumes, but I didn't care too much! Enough people understood it to make it fun. :)

Getting her face painted by Donald Trump. haha!

Paris Mountain

Last week Morgan and Jenn took a trip to Utah to visit Jacob and Valerie. Laurie and Bronson went up to Simpsonville to take care of their kids. I went up Sunday evening with Josh and stayed until Tuesday evening to help out when Laurie had to leave. On Monday we took all the kids to Paris Mountain in North Greenville. It was beautiful. The leaves were all changing and it was such a gorgeous day! We walked all around, got really dirty and beat up and then got ice cream afterwards! A perfect day.

Carving Pumpkins '16

The week before Halloween we decided to carve pumpkins with the girls! We didn't end up carving last year. I can't remember why exactly, but probably because the girls just didn't seem interested. But Elliott was pretty excited about it this year, even if we still did most the work. Haha. They turned out pretty cute though!

EdVenture & Halloween Crafts

A couple weeks ago we went to EdVenture with some friends and then spent the afternoon making Halloween crafts! It was a great day.

Our trip to EdVenture this day was actually pretty hysterical. Tara and I spent all morning chasing kiddos around. Just before lunch, her sweet baby was hungry. So she ran down to the cafe to see if they could give her a cup of hot water to heat up her bottle. They don't have hot water...uh, what? So they gave her a cup of luke warm water, which did nothing. We decided to try out the cafe for lunch since we were already there and we were all getting a bit hangry. We went downstairs, they boiled some water for her bottle and we ordered some lunch. They were out of the first two things I tried to order, so I frustratedly decided on pizza. Terrible choice. After 10 minutes or so (mind you, we were the only ones there) they came out to tell me that they were out of pepperoni and asked if bacon was okay. Oh sure! Haha. Another 10 minutes go by and our pizza finally shows up. It was the most disgusting pizza I've ever eaten. They had used pre-cooked bacon and just laid the strips across my pizza. They didn't even crumble it up! Haha. And it was on some kind of floppy bread that tasted like it was uncooked. All I could do was laugh. Tara's food took almost 30 minutes to come out and she got a turkey wrap (which I'm sure was pre-made) and a pb&j. So frustrating. But, thankfully they had this beautiful carousel in the middle of the restaurant to keep the kids busy. Oh, just kidding. It costs $4! Oh man. Seriously we were cracking up. We made a big enough fuss that they eventually gave us free passes for the carousel and the kids got to ride before we both headed home with grumpy, tired kids! What a morning! Hahaha.

That afternoon we made some Halloween crafts. I didn't buy anything, just used what we had around the house. Piper ate more crafts than she made. Haha. Typical.

Fall has arrived and I turned 28!

Fall is finally here in South Carolina. Although, we're still experiencing warm spells. It was 88 degrees today. Boo. But overall, the weather is much more enjoyable!

We've been going to the zoo a lot! Can you tell?
Action shot!
Typical day at our house. Cute and adorable in the morning. Naked and crazy by dinner time.
More typical dinner scenes.
Our little model.

My birthday was also this week! It was a great day. It fell on a Friday, which was great! I got to see Josh. He's working in Greenville and stays at Morgan and Jenn's Monday through Friday. But he got back about 7pm on Friday night. So we snuck out and went to Midwood Smokehouse for dinner! Yum. I love that place! Josh made it a great birthday! Unfortunately Hurricane Matthew hit the next day, so we didn't get to do anything too crazy. But we did grab lunch as a family and do some Target strolling. Two of my favorite things. :)
