Trunk-Or-Treat

Since we've only been in our ward a few months and we've been gone 6 weeks of those few months (home with Elliott) we thought we would go to our ward Trunk-or-Treat on Halloween. We dressed Elliott up and brought our Minecraft costumes and set out to meet new people. The announcement said to bring chili so I found this awesome Black Bean Chili recipe that I made. Come to find out, they wanted everyone to bring a can of chili and they were dumping all the cans in to a big pot. So my delicious homemade chili...got dumped into the big pot of canned chilis. Disgusting. Oh well. Josh and I each got a bowl full before they dumped it in. We'll remember that for next time...

The trunk-or-treat was fun though. We didn't really meet any new people but it was fun seeing all the kids so excited and dressed in their adorable costumes. We ran out of candy fast! I bought three bags and we ran out in about 10 minutes. It was crazy! There were a ton of kids there. I'm pretty sure our entire neighborhood showed up! But it was a lot of fun. After we ran out of candy Josh and I closed our trunk and walked around looking at all the kids and trunks that were decorated so cool! It was a fun night!
