Josh's Birthday/Halloween Party

Last week we decided to plan a last minute Halloween party at Morgan and Jenn's house. They had planned on having one but it had just slipped under the rug (I can't imagine why...it's not like they're about to have a baby any day now or anything). :) Well, the day that worked best for everyone was Friday evening which just happened to fall on Josh's actual birthday! So it turned into a Halloween birthday party for Josh. Josh got off work around 1:30 and we got Cafe Rio for dinner. Then we put our costumes together and headed over. Everyone brought treats and a game to play. I made two treats. I made Josh's birthday cake which was a request for "better than sex cake". It turned out so delicious. And for the party I made chocolate covered strawberry ghosts! They turned out pretty cute!

It was so much fun! Everyone's costumes were so good! Morgan and Jenn were Juno and Paulie Bleaker from Juno (Jane was a chicken!).

Jacob, Val and Jack were a knight, princess and a dragon.

Kelly was a cowgirl and Perry was a golfer.

Nathan was Mayhem from the Allstate ads and Alyson was Flo from the Progressive ads. It was very creative and way cute! 

Josh and I were characters from the very nerdy video game called Minecraft. The only reason we did this was because all our friends knew what it was. Not many other people know what it is. Oh and Elliott was an elephant! The cutest elephant there ever was!

Jacob and Valerie had another party that night so they had to leave early but before they left we played a couple games. We did a cake walk, a donut on a string competition and our game where you tied a balloon to your ankle and had to pop other people's balloons using only your elbows. It was hilarious to watch. I took pictures and held Elliott. 

Alyson, Jenn and I were the winners from the cakewalk. We got these awesome punching pens. 

You couldn't use your hands at all...even if it fell on the ground.

As you can see, this game got a little intense!

Kelly and Perry headed out a little after that so then it was just down to us, Morgan and Jenn and Alyson and Nathan. Since it was Josh's birthday we let him choose what game to play. Of course he chose Monopoly. He loves Monopoly. Morgan and Josh get so into it. It was the most intense game I've ever seen them play. Ridiculous. But they had a lot of fun. Morgan ended up winning. It didn't get over until almost 1am. Yikes! So after we got home Josh opened his gifts and we went to bed! We were so tired.

For his birthday Josh got The Game of Thrones book series, new snowboarding gloves (from my mom), a new eye mask for sleeping, a wrist rest that looks like wood for his laptop, a SC Gamecock blanket and an Amazon giftcard (from his parents). He had a great birthday and we had a great time at the party!
