Here are some milestones, favorites and hates of little Elliott's.
This month Elliott rolled over! She rolled from her back to her front. She has yet to do it again, but she has come really close. We have always noticed that she is a really strong baby. She has been holding her neck up since the day she was born and rolling over at a month and a half? She's pretty amazing..! :)
Elliott started smiling this month! She started right around 5 weeks old. It was the best feeling in the world. I love going to get her out of her crib in the morning and seeing her big smile in reaction to seeing me. It's such a great feeling. Josh loves it too. Since she's with me most of the time, she tends to look at me more, etc. But, Josh can make her smile so much. She loves her daddy.
This month Elliott has started sleeping through the night. Besides a few nights scattered throughout, Elliott has been sleeping through the night for about 2 weeks. We moved her to her crib when she was a few weeks old and she does so well with it! Depending on the day she goes to bed between 8 and 9. I simply feed her, swaddle her, give her her binky and lay her down. She usually spits her binky out and cries one or two times and then puts herself to sleep. It has been amazing. Then she will sleep til 6am. Her sleeping is almost like clock-work. She wakes up at 6am every morning on the dot. But, since it's still dark at 6am I just feed her in her room and put her back down and she'll usually sleep another couple hours. She really is a wonderful sleeper! I couldn't ask for more!
Elliott loves her carrier. I bought a cheap one on Amazon that had good reviews (it was $15) and it has been a huge hit with her (and with me)! I can get so much more done during the day! I can clean, do dishes, laundry, vacuuming, etc. all with her in her carrier. She loves it. She stays awake usually and just looks around being happy. Phew. What a relief. Yesterday I took her on a walk to Kneaders in it. She loved it! She stayed awake the whole time just looking around cooing and making the most adorable noises. She really is so sweet.
She also loves to be naked. When she is naked, she is usually happy (unless it's right after her bath and she's cold). In the morning when she's all nice and warm and snuggly I take her out of her swaddle and jammies and let her be naked for a while. She loves it.
Elliott loves her baths! Thank goodness for that. I have known a lot of babies that hate baths but she loves it. She could be totally fussy and I can put her in the tub and she'll calm right down. I don't have to use the mesh thing anymore so she sits in her little tub and she is long enough that her feet hit the bottom and she holds herself up. It's adorable. She has also started kicking her feet in the tub. It's hilarious. She will push one foot to the end of the tub to hold herself up and then kick her other foot really hard and fast. She splashes herself a bunch, which only makes her kick harder. It's really so cute.
She also LOVES to stare at herself in the bathroom mirror. The lights are really bright in our bathroom (which she also loves) so she'll either stand or sit in her bumbo in front of the mirror and just stare at herself. Yesterday she wouldn't stop crying unless I put her in front of the mirror. It was hilarious. I would literally pull her away for 2 seconds and she would start crying...then stop as soon as I put her back in front of it. Silly girl.
Elliott hates getting dressed. It doesn't matter if she is in the best mood in the world, if you try and dress her, she will cry. And it's never her pants...it's always the top. She HATES getting her arms in her shirts or onsies.
She also hates being put down. At night she does fine, but she just LOVES to be held. She will be perfectly content in my arms...until I set her down (even if it's just for a second) and then she starts crying. Poor girl just loves to be held.
Well, that's pretty much it. Our little girl is growing up so fast! But I love it. It's so much fun to see her learning new things and growing so much. I love her so much!
Here are some pictures I took on her two month birthday. This was the day she was an absolute monster. I couldn't get her to stop crying, and a smile? Forget about it. So this is the best we could do.
[This one makes me laugh so much!!]
And here is a funny picture from Halloween. She is standing in her crib resting on her arms. She looks so...straight faced. Ha! I'm not so sure she liked it.
Happy 2 months Elliott!!
loved the post, she really is a beautiful baby, even when she is not happy. I love her hair bow, very cute. When you were a baby you loved bath time also, until you had to get out then you would be mad. I love her big eyes.
