New Parents

Josh and I absolutely love being parents. It suits us well. We're pretty exhausted but we are so happy.

Here's what we've been up to lately.

My mom left town the Monday after Elliott's blessing. Josh's family was then here for a few days. They were here until Thursday when they headed up to Rexburg to take Hannah and Chandler to BYU-I. They came back on Saturday and then hit the road again on Monday morning bright and early. It was so great having family here. My mom was such a big help as was Josh's family.

While Josh's family was here, Elliott had her first outing! We went to Iggy's for dinner. She might have started screaming right when we ordered our food so we ran out to the car and I fed her. But then she slept from like 7pm-1am. She was a trooper!

Ready to go!

Daddy trying to console her.

Playing Settlers of Catan with Josh's parents and Morgan and Jenn.

Elliott is already such a Daddy's girl. I've got the goods but she loves cuddles with her daddy way more.

Kisses from daddy.

Thanks Aunt Sara for the cute Sock Monkey outfit!

We also took a walk down to Kneaders this week to visit Josh and so everyone at Kneaders could see her. She looked so cute.

Elliott had a really hard time during the nights for the first week. She would wake up every hour wanting to eat. Mostly because she would only eat for a few minutes before falling asleep. It was so frustrating. I tried everything to keep her awake for feedings but she just wouldn't wake up. Luckily, things have gotten way better. She slept through the entire night two nights in a row and has since only been waking up once or twice a night for feedings. I'm so proud of her. I will admit, she is sleeping in bed with us. I was always against cosleeping, but when you aren't getting any sleep, desperation kicks in. We are planning on transitioning her to her crib this weekend. We'll see how it goes.

Alyson came over and took newborn pictures this week too! She is coming over with them tonight. I can't wait to see them. Elliott was such a doll posing for the pictures. Except for the time she pooped on Alyson's blanket...and then peed on it too. Sorry Alyson! We had to get naked pictures...so it was a risk. But I'm sure the pictures are going to be adorable.

We've been keeping it pretty low key around here. Elliott and I go on walks everyday while Josh is at work. I think the walks have also been helping with sleeping at night. She stays awake for most of the walks and she's getting lots of sunlight. When Josh gets off work we basically just sit around staring at Elliott. We just can't get enough of her. Since Josh's family left the ward has been bringing in meals for us. It's been so wonderful. Even though I'm fully capable of making dinner, it's just so nice to not have to worry about it. And I've been meeting a lot of great people from the ward. Our ward is so wonderful.

Alright, now for a bunch of pictures from my phone...! Enjoy. She's a cutie!

Jane meeting Elliott for the first time.

This picture makes me laugh so hard. I do not understand what she is doing but she looks so Asian. Haha

Her hands are ALWAYS by her face.

I love her toes.

Big yawn!

I still don't understand where she gets this hair from!

Going for a walk.

Swinging at the park.

Cute little hand.

Lounging at the park.

Big eyes!

Fresh out of the bath.

A picture I took on my phone during our photo shoot.

Haha. She loves to cover her eyes with her little hand mits.

So cute! Dimple!

At the park today just before her blow out!
