Blessing Day

Elliott was born on Thursday night and we came home on Friday night. My mom was scheduled to leave Monday morning and Josh's family was arriving Sunday evening so we decided to do a low-key blessing at our home on Sunday evening so everyone could be there. It was so wonderful. Elliott wore the gorgeous blessing gown that my mom sewed for her and she wore a giant flower/lace headband. She looked absolutely perfect. 

We had Josh's parents, Morgan, Jenn, Hannah, Chandler, my mom, Jacob, Alyson and Nathan, and Kelly and Perry here for her special day. We really wanted to keep it to close friends and family (especially since she is so young). (We missed you Valerie!!) Elliott didn't cry once during her blessing. She was an angel. Josh blessed her with so many things. Some of the things that stood out to me were that she would have a desire to learn and educate herself, that she would marry in the temple to a worthy young man, that she would be an example to those around her, that she would always have a close relationship with her heavenly father and know that she has divine nature and that she is His daughter and that she would have a healthy and strong body. It was so sweet and sincere. I loved hearing Josh bless her with those things. The spirit was so strong. Having a baby with Josh has made me love him so much more and moments like this just continue to strengthen that bond we have.
