Wednesday and IT'S A GIRL!

Wednesday with the family was another great day. We started the day off heading to Nickel City, a favorite place of ours around here. Unfortunately, they weren’t open yet so we all headed over to the mall to grab some lunch and wait for them to open. We spent a little over an hour running around Nickel City playing games and chasing the kids. Elliott loved it. She particularly enjoyed sticking the nickels in the machines. That afternoon we had a gender ultrasound scheduled so we left Nickel City and went to do that appointment. Since everyone was in town, I kinda left an open invitation to whoever wanted to come. It wasn’t at my OB office, so I didn’t really care what the person thought. Well, we were quite the crowd, but it was fun sharing it with everyone. And I think Laurie and Bronson really enjoyed seeing it. Our little baby looked absolutely perfect. The technician spent some time showing us how she was positioned and how she looked. And then spent what felt like forever trying to figure out the gender. At first she said that she thought it was a boy because she was grabbing between her legs. But after a could rechecks, she decided that she thought it was a girl. She still didn’t seem completely sure, but we’re going with girl. It would be a big surprise if something changed at the next ultrasound. But I doubt it. :) We are so excited to be having another girl. I can’t wait for Elliott to have a little sister. And of course, everything feels so much more real now we know the gender. I love being able to refer to the baby as she or her and not it. Such a pleasant change. And we are still in the heat of discussing names, so don’t ask. We might not have one until she’s born. Who knows. :)

After the ultrasound we went back home to put Elliott (and Bronson) to bed and Laurie, Josh and I hit up Harmons (awesome local grocery store) for some pizza ingredients. They have the best cured meat section nearby. Then we packed up our grill and headed to Morgan and Jenn’s to make some pizza. Josh is an absolute pro at grilling pizza. They are seriously so stinking good. And he makes them individuals, so everyone can top their own. I, personally, did half and half. Half tomato base with fresh mozzarella, and pepperoni, and half pesto base with fresh mozzarella, proscuitto, sundered tomatoes, and garlic. Oh man, my mouth is watering just thinking about it. So delicious.

After pizza we ate chocolate cake and had a mini celebration for Jane’s birthday. She is almost 3! Can’t believe it. Laurie had a lady from her ward handmade this adorable doll for her (that Kate already has) and also got one for Elliott. We were so excited. It has hazel eyes, blonde hair and has her name embroidered on the back. It is seriously, so precious. I hope she treasures it forever.
