Love Day/s

We had a pretty successful Valentine's Day this year. Josh and I switch off who plans Valentine's day and our anniversary each year. This year I was in charge of Valentine's day. The natural tendency for most people is to do things for those they love as what they wish were being done to them. This idea comes from the love language book. We tend to love others in our own language, where we should be learning their language and loving them that way. I knew what I wanted for Valentine's but I tried my best to keep what Josh would want in mind and plan it around him.

We did our big celebration on Friday night but I wanted to do something special for him Thursday too. Especially since he had a totally crummy day at work (lots of people wanting the day off, people complaining about the schedule, etc.). So I spent the day making sure the house was spotless. This is really important to Josh. He loves a clean house. I took out all the trash (another important one for him) and had a candle burning when he walked in. I clean the house every day when he's at work, but I went the extra mile this day and made sure it was spotless. The rest of the day I spent with my little sweetheart. She was so cute on Thursday. I just couldn't get enough of her. She looked so cute and she was so smiley. We had such a fun day just relaxing and playing together.

We had to send some cute pictures to daddy to wish him a happy v-day!

I also did some pink glitter nails during Elliott's nap. So festive.

Cute girl!

kisses!

I love that she's looking at me! Melts my heart.

I love her so much.

Sideways! Sorry!

When Josh got home I immediately asked him what he wanted to eat. He chose what we were having and I went out to pick it up. Before I left I made sure to set him up with his favorite video game to play. I got home, we ate our Cafe Rio and then I let him choose what we did the rest of the day. He wanted to play video games and watch a man movie. So that's what we did. We watched Skyfall, which was actually pretty good. It was fun to just do anything he wanted. I actually really enjoyed it. I didn't buy him anything this year because I know it would just stress him out for me to spend money like that. I just made him a card and that was it.

On Friday Josh hurt his back at work and so he got home a couple hours early. We just hung and watched some shows until our date. I kept it a surprise from Josh, just for fun. Alyson and Nathan came over to watch Elliott which was so, so sweet of them. It was the first time we've left her with anyone but family and really the only time I've left her with anyone while she has been awake, so I was a little nervous. But we gave her kisses and headed out. We joked in the car about how we felt like we had just gotten younger! We felt so free. It was weird. For dinner we hit up P712. It was a recommendation from Kelly, Perry, Valerie and Jacob. And it definitely lived up to what they had told us. It is a little local pizza place (Josh's favorite food is pizza). While I don't particularly like pizza, I definitely enjoy a good gourmet pizza and this was beyond gourmet! It was delicious. I can't even tell you what was on it, because I can't pronounce any of the ingredients! Yum.

During dinner Josh and I started talking about all our Valentine's past and trying to remember what we did for each and then somehow our conversation turned to 2012 and our favorite part, which immediately turned to Elliott. Then we spent the rest of dinner talking about our sweet girl and how much we adore her. Alyson sent us the cutest picture right after we left of Elliott that said, "Bye, bye mom and dad!" It was adorable and I seriously almost teared up.

After dinner we went to The Chocolate for dessert. Yum. We shared a cazookie and got a piece of cake for later.

After dessert we ran back home so I could feed Elliott before she went to bed. Alyson had already bathed her and had her in her jammies all ready for bed. So we came in, I fed her,  put her to bed, we chatted for a little bit, then we headed back out.

The second part of the date was to go to Color Me Mine. I'm sure most of you know that we got there often but we actually hadn't been in a long time! It was very overdue! And perfectly relaxing and fun. And Friday night is live music night and the guy singing was amazing. He sang so many songs that Josh and I love. It was great. I made a new butter dish for us and Josh made another plate to add to his collection. I can't wait to go pick them up!

It's hard to tell the colors before it's burned. It's teal and peach.

Haha. Good job josh.

After Color Me Mine we came back. Elliott had slept the whole time without waking up! Yay. And so we hung out with Alyson and Nathan for a bit and as soon as they left we crashed. We are so exhausted these days. Staying up til midnight feels soooo late.

It was a wonderful couple of days and I am so thankful for my sweet husband and everything he does for me. I know how much he adores me and I feel like the luckiest girl in the world when I'm with him. Happy Valentine's Day Joshie!

**And a special thanks to Alyson and Nathan for babysitting and doing such a great job!!*

And soon I'll be posting some adorable pictures of Elliott in a red tutu. So...look forward to those! :)
