Valentine's Day!

Josh and I had a great Valentines Day! It started off with breakfast in bed. I made eggs, bacon, toast and grits. Josh had to go work for Adam for a few hours so while he was gone I got ready and cleaned up the house a bit. Josh got home around 1 and he really needed a haircut so we went to Justcuts and did that first. We headed to the mall next because Josh's valentine's gift this year was his first pair of converse! He chose red ones. They look so adorable on him!

Next we had a reservation at Tucano's at 4pm. Tucano's is one of Josh's favorite restaurants. It is an all you can eat restaurant but totally delicious. They have a full salad bar that also includes hot foods like pasta and vegetables. Then while you stuff yourself on salad and sides they bring around huge skewers with all different kinds of meat on them. It's very much a man restaurant, I mean come on...all you can eat meat? Josh loved it though! After dinner we walked our full tummies around for a while because we felt so sick. We then headed back to the house for some art time :) I bought 3 large canvases and 6 small ones. On the large ones we painted each other and the small ones were to do what ever we wanted. Our paintings of each other turned out so great! I love them. We made them so that when we put them on the wall we are looking at each other. It was so fun just laying around and painting. We felt so artsy!

Isn't he such a cutie!

I love how his turned out! Just wait!!
In the process.

Almost done!

Didn't they turn out so great!!! :)
After we painted we headed to Morgan and Jenn's stake Valentine's Dance. It was pretty fun for the 20 minutes we were there. Morgan isn't big into dancing...at all. And Josh isn't a big dancer either. So the dance ended pretty shortly but we did get a few songs in! And our outfits were so cute! I don't have any pictures but they took one at the dance so as soon as I get that back I will post it! I wore my 70's red polka dot dress with my black cardigan and Josh wore gray pants, a black skinny tie and his new red converse! We looked great!

After the dance we came back and finished our paintings and ate our yummy dessert! The chocolate covered strawberries were so delicious. They gave each of us one at Tucano's and mine were so much better! :) Even Josh agreed! Anyways, it was a great night! Lots of fun!

On the way to the dance.

  1. Whoa, I'm the first one to read & post! :) On a whim I checked your blog and Sara's and you both had new Valentine's day posts. :)

I didn't hear about the paintings till now, that's a great idea. What a fun day, a fun reason to do some great dates.

It's a good idea to take turns planning - sometimes in the past I've tried to surprise Joe with dates but then I always have to guess whether Joe is doing the same, so I usually end up telling him & ruining the surprise. :)

I'm so glad you guys had a great day together!
