This post isn't about anything in particular. Just our wonderful Saturday.
We slept in until 10 (well, at least Josh did) Woohoo! That's a big deal for Josh now since he works Mon-Fri at 6am. We had plans to go to the local farmers market since it is ending next week but alas, it was storming this morning so when we drove past, most of the booths were gone and nothing that was left interested us. So instead we just hit the list of errands (not as fun, but still enjoyable, especially when you're both working and never seeing each other). We ran to the library, the grocery store (to pick up some last minute birthday ingredients for the big cake!!), the shoe repair store to see if Josh's boots are done getting fixed (they aren't. they'll be done monday), and then we decided since it was so cold, rainy and miserable that soup sounded good (and josh finally caught what I had a couple weeks ago, poor miserable guy, so soup sounded really good). Zupas is a local soup, salad and sandwich place. They have 5 locations in Utah. Their sandwiches and salads aren't anything to write home about (we are biased since we work at the best bakery in town) but their soup...now that's another story. Josh ordered the lobster bisque
and I got the yucatan chicken tortilla soup (it comes with tortilla strips in it and a fresh scoop of guacamole and is also the one soup they don't have a picture of on their website). It was completely delicious and warmed us right up. After lunch we just had laundry to do and it was only 12:15! We had accomplished so much already. We decided we would hit a movie (what's better on a rainy day?). We went and saw the Social Network (the story behind facebook). It was really good and really interesting. If that interests you, I recommend it.
After our movie we came back to the house, did laundry, ate dinner, watched some tv, I did some homework, Josh played some video games with his friends and now we're getting ready to hit the sack! It was a great day! :) Just felt like sharing.
Isn't it funny how some of the best days are spent doing the most mundane things, but it's the person you are doing those mundane things with that makes it perfect and wonderful. I love those kind of days. Glad you had a good Saturday.
