Josh's family came to visit us this weekend!
It was a short little trip but we had a lot of fun.
They got here on Saturday afternoon around 1:30. The boys were still at work so Jenn and I played host for a few hours. Luckily, his family is nice and laid back so we just relaxed and talked while we waited for the boys to get home. Josh and Morgan got home around 6. We headed out to dinner to fill our hungry tummies. The plan was to go to Cheesecake Factory but when we got there we were informed that the wait for 8 people was...3 hours. Hello. No thanks.
It may sound silly but we were so starving and we figured that everywhere that was nice would have a long wait so we went to Moe's Southwestern Grill inside the mall. It was so delicious! :)
After dinner we went to Cheesecake Factory and bought a whole Original Strawberry Cheesecake and Josh got an extra slice of Red Velvet cheesecake. We went back to the apartments and ate our cheesecake while we watched silly youtube videos. The best from the night? Probably this one.
This morning we went to church and then came home and made dinner. Jenn made poppyseed chicken (which is super yummy) and we made some salad and corn. I also made a big batch of those chocolate crinkle cookies that I raved about in an earlier post. Delicious.
After dinner we played a big game of Oh Heck. It was hilarious.
The highlights of the game:
Morgan's crazy sounds when he put down his cards
Hannah cheating to win the final round
Josh freaking out at me because I supposedly put down 2 cards improperly
Me "papercutting" Josh's finger with card (there was no evidence of a papercut)
Laurie saying, "I Suwanee" over and over again (we still aren't sure what she was talking about)
Bronson making fun of me and saying, "My bum hurts!" in a girly, high-pitched voice.
It was a fun trip but it definitely went way too fast! Hopefully we will get to see them again soon.
P.S. We missed you Kendal!!

So I'm going to strap a boat engine on the KIA and hoist the British flag and head for the river
ReplyDeleteWhat's up with the napkin up the nose?! Sounds like a very fun weekend.
