In all the hullabaloo of Elliott's party and blogging about that, I realized that I missed some things. The biggest one of all: our 5 year wedding anniversary! Hello.
Well, let me just say, it was amazing. Josh planned it this year and did an awesome job. Auntie Kendal so graciously offered to babysit Monday day and overnight into Tuesday. It was our first night away from Elliott. She was pretty much weened by this point, so I wasn't too worried.
Our date started with an hour long couples massage at the Massage Cabin in Provo. We could have had them done at Sundance but it was less than half the price here in Provo, so we opted for the cheaper ones. They were wonderful. After our massages we grabbed In N' Out and drove up the canyon to the Sundance Resort. We've been snowboarding up there plenty of times but it was both of our first times staying up there overnight. It was amazing.
[Some In N' Out. Yum.]
We got there and checked in and then were escorted to our cabin. We parked in a parking lot up the way a bit and then our cabin was about a 1/4 mile hike in. It was awesome. The cabin had three rooms. Ours was on the basement so it led right onto the deck that was right by the river. It was so beautiful. We left the windows open and just listened to the river. So peaceful. The room was amazing too. So nice and full of free amenities with Happy Anniversary all over them.

[You can't really tell from the photo but that tub was like 3 feet deep I swear! It was glorious!!]
Since we were both super greasy from our massages, we cleaned up and got dressed and then hit the resort for some exploring. We walked to the lift (which looks a lot different in the summer), found an awesome pond full of huge fish where we took some pictures and then walked around the store in the restaurant building. Then we headed in for dinner.
[We had a hard time taking a normal picture...]

We ate dinner and breakfast in the Foundry Grill. It was so nice. We bought a package deal for our stay which included dinner and breakfast. So we had a voucher. We asked the waitress what it included and she said, "That is the golden ticket. You can basically get whatever you want." So we did! Let's just say, dinner lasted over two and a half hours. We both ordered appetizers (I got asparagus with capicola and Josh got smoked salmon), I got a salad before my meal, we both got main dishes (I got meatloaf with potatoes and veggies and Josh got the surf and turf special which was filet mignon and shrimp), and we both got sides (I got sweet potato fries and Josh got mac and cheese). On top of all that we had between us three Bavarian Root beers and two desserts (banana bread pudding to stay and raspberry cheesecake to go). Our bill was over $150. But we only had to pay a tip! What a deal! It was wonderful. No worrying about the prices of things. Just nice, relaxed and ordering whatever the heck we wanted.
[Josh's side of mac and cheese was a dish in and of itself! It was huge!]
[Check that out! Ha]
After dinner we headed back to our room to drop off our leftovers and grab a blanket. Then we headed to the lift for the full-moon lift ride (it just happened to fall on that night. Score!). It was super cloudy that night so we couldn't actually see the moon or any stars, but it was still so beautiful and peaceful. It was quiet and so dark. I loved it.
[That's us. Toooo dark. Haha]

The next morning we slept in, packed up and hit up breakfast at the Foundry Grill again. It was so good. We had another voucher for breakfast so each got main dishes (I got biscuits and gravy and Josh got french toast), sides (bacon and eggs) and drinks. It was about $45. Wonderful food.

After breakfast we headed back home. It was such a wonderful stay. Sundance was so accommodating and beautiful! I loved it. We were both so happy that we made the extra effort to have a night to ourselves without Elliott. It was really hard, (we even FaceTimed with her before she went to bed), but it was worth it. It was so nice being alone together again. I can't believe that it has been 5 years since we were married. We are getting old! :) I love you Joshie! Happy Anniversary!
