Graduation!

As everyone probably knows I graduated in December. But, BYU doesn't have their ceremonies until April. So, I walked this weekend! My mom flew down for my graduation which was so wonderful. I'm so thankful for a supportive mother! It meant so much to have her here. I don't think it would have felt as special without her. My mom arrived in Utah on Wednesday morning. We spent Wednesday hanging out, visiting Josh at Kneaders and shopping for a baby stroller (which was my mom's present to us). It's the most adorable stroller ever. Seriously. We love it! Thanks so much mom!!

I had to work on Thursday (unfortunately). It was the only day I was scheduled when my mom was here which I thought was pretty good. I went into work at 9 and got off around 3. My mom walked around town and ended up walking to Kneaders and spent most of her day sitting in Kneaders reading. I felt so bad, but she swears it wasn't bad. As soon as Josh and I were off we all rushed home and changed for commencement. BYU's graduation works like this. The day before everyone walks they do commencement which is where all the graduates gather and listen to a speaker. It was only an hour long and Elder Oaks was the speaker. He was fantastic. I chose not to sit with all the graduates in my robes, so I sat with Josh and my mom in the audience. After commencement we went home, changed and then my mom treated us to dinner since Josh graduates next week! We chose Macaroni Grill for dinner. It was so delicious. And while we waited for our table we strolled around Riverwoods. We showed my mom the new Kneaders up there and went to Blickenstaff's to get my mom some British candy. After dinner we went to the Provo Kneaders and grabbed desserts but actually didn't eat them until the next day because we were all too full.

Friday morning was graduation. In order for Josh to go to my graduation he had to meet up with the shipment people early and get everything unloaded at work to make it to graduation at 8. He went in to work at 4:30 and took care of that stuff and then was able to make it to my graduation. I'm so glad he was there. I had to be there at 7am to get in line and what not but it only took like 5 minutes and then we all stood around for an hour waiting for it to start. I was so hungry and so fatigued. I just kept thinking...don't pass out on stage, don't pass out on stage. We got in our seats, listened to the 3 speakers (too many) and then walked. I'm still really disappointed that they said my name wrong. The guy said Donna instead of Danna despite my best efforts to write him a pronunciation guide on my paper. Oh well. All the pictures from graduation are on my mom's camera which I forgot to get from her before she left, so I'll post them when I get them.  But I do have videos!! It was a small gathering, just Josh and my mom. The rest of the family here in town was busy, busy getting ready to leave for the summer. But it was still a lot of fun.

After graduation we walked around campus taking pictures. It was a beautiful day! We got some good ones with my camera, but I'm sure my mom has tons too, so I'll add more soon.

[Awkward family photo. Haha]

After graduation we hit up Cafe Rio for some lunch and then my mom and I went and met up with Kendal and Jenn to go wedding dress shopping for Kendal. They had already been shopping for a while and she had already found her dress. Not that I didn't enjoy graduation but I really felt like I missed out. I was pretty bummed. But I got to see her in the dress she chose (which is going to be amazing) and we went to the distribution center and she got all her stuff for the temple! It was really exciting! After that we hit up the creamery for some ice cream. Gosh that sounds so yummy right about now.

When my mom and I got home Josh was passed out on the bed still in his work clothes. We spent the rest of the night just relaxing and hanging out.

Saturday was crazy. A kid at work had cut his finger really bad the day before and Josh couldn't find a single person to cover for him so Josh decided to go in 2 hours before his shift started to do everything that that kid normally does. On Saturday Josh goes in at 5 so that meant 3...and yes, 3am. I had been in a huge rush getting ready for graduation the day before and left a bunch of junk all over the floor and when Josh got up at 2:30 to get ready for work he tripped over my temple bag and sprained his ankle and knee on his right leg. He texted his boss and told him he'd be a little late. He laid in bed with me for about 30 minutes then headed into work. It was pretty bad. He hobbled around and did what he could sitting on buckets. He worked from 3:30 until 3pm on a sprained ankle and knee. He's one tough guy. Since they were already under staffed and it was a super busy Saturday I got called into work too. I was pretty upset, but there's not much you can say when your husband is the GM. Haha. So my mom and I walked over to Kneaders in the morning to take Josh a bandage and some medicine, I got changed and worked from 12-3. At least it wasn't too long. At the very end of my shift I noticed the aura I get when I'm getting a migraine. I downed a Dr. Pepper, came home, took some tylenol and hit the sack. Luckily it only lasted about an hour (much shorter than most) and I was able to hang out with everyone that night. We had Morgan and Jenn and Tyler and Amanda over for a small BBQ. We had burgers and hung out.

Sunday was church and another BBQ. Morgan, Jenn and Kendal left for the summer today so last night was our last hurrah. We BBQ'd a bunch of chicken. It was yummy! We didn't have a lot of time bc my mom's flight left last night around 10, so we left for the airport around 7:30. It was such a fun trip and fun weekend. I'm so glad my mom got to be there to see me graduate and to be here for a long weekend! We had a lot of fun! Miss you already!
