Halloween this year was such a blast! We went with the ghostbusters theme this year. Piper was the stay puft marshmallow man, Elliott was a ghostbuster and Josh and I were ghosts. We had fun with it and I think it turned out great! Our celebrating started Friday night with our ward Trunk or Treat. Have I talked about how much I love our new ward? Because I love it. It's amazing.
The trunk or treat started with a dinner/dance/costume contest. They had hotdogs and chili and then there was dancing while they judged costumes. Piper won for best costume in her age group! After the judging, we headed outside for trunk or treat. Elliott got quite the haul. Heck, so did Piper (Ahem, us...). We had a blast. Once Elliott got the hang of it, she took off and was running ahead of us from car to car yelling "trick or treat" and then quickly rushing to the next car. I loved seeing her so excited.
On Saturday we left Columbia around lunch time and headed to Simpsonville to Morgan and Jenn's. I dropped Josh off at Morgan's work so he could see where that was and then headed to Jenn's. We got there and got ready for their Halloween party! They had two other families there for the party so we got to meet some new people too! It was a lot of fun. I was on Whole30 which was the only downside! There was so much yummy food, but not a lot I could eat. I brought bacon and guacamole to make little bacon bites but, unfortunately, the bacon was burned (cough, josh, cough) so I didn't have much to eat that night. Haha. Oh well! So we ate and then they had a few games planned. Apparently we were supposed to plan a game, but missed the memo (sorry Jenn!). But they had donuts on a string, bobbing for apples and this hilarious game where you put tights on your head with a baseball in it and try to knock water bottles over by swinging your head around.
After games we headed out for trick or treating. Morgan and Jenn have a great neighborhood for trick or treating! We only did one full street and we got so much candy! The kids had a blast. Especially Jane! Elliott was exhausted that night and wasn't as into it as she was the night before. But, we tried to make the best of it. She would complain between houses but then forget she was upset when she would see a house with a light on and would run and get her candy. Then start complaining again. Haha. Poor girl. So tired.
After trick or treating, their other friends left and we settled in. We put the kids to sleep and then we played games and hung out! Just like old times. It was so much fun.
We stayed the night and went to church with them in the morning and then headed home after lunch.
It was such a great halloween weekend!
