Piper Gray turns O N E

Piper Gray Titus is ONE! It just doesn't feel real. She is totally still my baby. Or maybe I'm in denial. Who knows. Either way, we celebrated her birthday and it was great!

Being here in SC, we wanted Morgan and Jenn and their kids to be there so we decided to plan the party the night of apple picking and just have it up in Simpsonville where they live. They were gracious enough to let us have the party at their home. After apple picking, they headed off to an appointment for Max and we got ready for the party.

Josh picked Piper's party theme. It was milk and cookies. It turned out just darling. We did mint and coral and gold as the colors and it came together so much better than I'd expected. I felt terrible because I spent months planning Elliott's first birthday party and there was so much love and work that went into it and I really wanted Piper's to be great too. I only spent a couple weeks planning hers but it really did turn out adorable.

We started the party right, with cookies and milk. There were six different types of cookies. Chocolate chip (thanks Jenn!), snickerdoodle, red velvet, whoopie pies (homemade oreos), peanut butter and sprinkle sugar cookies. They all turned out so yummy! I spent the entire day before making dough and cooking cookies. But it was worth it. Yum. We had white, chocolate and strawberry milk.

After cookies it was a couple small games and then presents for the birthday girl. So sweet to see what everyone got her. After gifts we headed to dinner. We ate a little local mexican restaurant. It was so good. Like, so good. It was wonderful all being together. Laurie and Bronson were both sick that day so they headed back to Columbia after dinner and we went back to the house to do Piper's cake smash and then hang out. Piper was adorable eating her cake. I remember Elliott not wanting hers at all and just crying. Piper just dug in and went to town on that thing. It was like she knew we would be taking it away any second and she just took handful after handful and shoved them in. I loved it.

After cake we put the kids to bed and then we just hung out, playing on Josh's new toy (he bought an eRover without telling me . . . ), and talking. It was such a fun night being reunited and seeing each other again. Love those guys! And so glad we are close again.

All in all, Piper's party was a success!
