VA trip: Flying Squirrels

My mom made plans to visit my sister and her family in VA some time ago and Josh convinced me (not that it took a lot of convincing) that this would be the perfect time for me to go as well. Elliott isn't quite two yet (which means she still flies for free) and I'm not so huge that flying with her would be completely uncomfortable. Although, I must say, it kind of was. :)

I had looked at tickets for over a month, hoping to find something under $500. But they just never dropped at all. So I decided to do some last minute bidding. Unfortunately, bidding didn't bring us as much luck as it has in the past. I don't know if you get better deals into certain airports, or what, but my tickets ended up costing about what they were a month before. So I paid less than the last-minute price, but still more than I wanted to. But, I had to go!

I flew into VA on a Sunday. Elliott and I left in the afternoon and got to VA at 10pm. Which, with the time difference, wasn't bad. It felt like 8pm to us. My sister's kids were still up when we got home, so we said hellos, hung out for a bit and then all hit the sack. Monday morning we did some shopping around town to some of the most adorable shops I've ever been in! One was full of second hand, refinished, amazing furniture. I would totally furnish my entire place with that stuff. And it was so affordable. I told my sister it was probably good I didn't live there or I would buy way too much stuff. They had tons of antiques and just so much adorable stuff.

Monday night for FHE we went to the Richmond Flying Squirrels game. That is their baseball team. It was such a blast. The whole stadium is shaded so it wasn't too hot and since there weren't many people there, we practically had a whole section to ourselves. Of course Elliott used the stadium as her jungle gym. Not gonna lie, there were a couple scary moments when she would get away and run up and down the stairs (which didn't have railings). But we managed to get through the night with only one fall and no injuries. :) Wrangling a toddler is hard work. I was so glad to have my family there to help with it all!

The Flying Squirrels lost, but it was still a great game and Spencer even caught a foul ball!

We called Mark Elliott's pseudo-daddy while we were there. I was so glad she had a man that played with her and rough housed with her while we were away from Josh.

L to R: Mark, Elliott, Spencer, Jamie (my sister), Taylor and me (feeling hot and pregnant)

Aren't they adorable!? And my sister is seriously gorgeous!

Cutest family!
