Mother's Day was so wonderful this year. I felt especially grateful being mother to sweet Elliott, but also carrying another girl. Being a mother is amazing. Josh let me "sleep in", (lay in bed and not be able to fall back asleep...dang motherhood) and had Elliott help him make me breakfast. Delicious. Church was wonderful. Our ward doesn't do Relief Society on Mother's Day. Instead, they set up a bunch of tables in the gym and the men serve us dessert while we just sit and chat. I sat with a bunch of girls that I didn't know too well, including one of our new neighbors and enjoyed getting to know them! (I tend to be a hermet). I had a huge slice of raspberry pie. Perfection. The lessons were amazing the rest of the day and I felt so grateful to be a mom.

I always have a hard time on Mother's Day because my heart goes out to all the women who find it to be such a trying and hard day. Obviously, those women who never marry or have the opportunity to become mothers, but also the women who try unsuccessfully to conceive. I cannot imagine the pain that ,a day completely centered around mothers, must bring. I thank Heavenly Father every day for blessing me with the gift of motherhood. I don't know why He feels the need to bless me so immensely, but I am so thankful that He has.
After church we all took naps and enjoyed our evening together as a family. Kendal brought me a sweet treat and we FaceTimed all the families. My mom hasn't seen Elliott since Christmas, so it was an overdue FaceTime! Josh made me navajo tacos (one of my favorite meals ever) and we watched a couple of our favorite shows. Overall, it was a wonderful day.
Sweet pictures, I am also so blessed to be a mother, its a joy.
