Happy Birthday Elliott!

I can't believe it. My baby is one year old! Last night as we lay in bed, I watched the time tick closer to 9:25pm and I thought about those moments one year ago when we were so close to meeting Elliott. It seems so far away. I feel like she has always been a part of our family. She has truly blessed us beyond measure. I can't imagine our life without her. We love you Elliott!

At 12 months Elliott:

• is a walking machine. She has just taken off with walking and loves to do it. 
• has 4 teeth. All four of her front chompers . . . and man can they chomp!
• knows who she is and will pat herself when asked, "Where is Elliott?"
• can stand on her own without needing to pull up on things. This is very new, as in the day before her birthday, but she is getting better.
• is so close to saying a few words. She does the H sound when asked to say "hi", and is able to copy most beginning sounds when asked to say a word. 
• loves to dance and bobs her head to almost any song.
• can shake her head yes and no when responding to questions. Sometimes she doesn't know what I'm asking, but she certainly answers when asked about what food she wants and what book she wants to read.
