Birthday Weekend

Sunday was my birthday but since Sunday was...well, Sunday and because of Conference, we decided to do most of the celebrating on Monday (which works well since Monday is Josh's day off).

But the weekend kicked off great all together. On Saturday Josh got home from work just in time to catch the last bit of the second session of conference. Then we put Elliott in her Gamecock onsie and we cheered on the #6 Gamecocks as they went against #5 Georgia. It was a great game. I almost felt a little bad for Georgia though. Everyone had predicted Georgia to win but South Carolina smoked them! It would have been a shut out but Georgia scored in the last few minutes of the game. I can't remember the score exactly but it was something like 35-7. That game win moved USC up to #3! Go Gamecocks! Elliott was a total stinker Saturday night so I was completely exhausted on Sunday morning. But we got up and watched conference then got ready and headed over to Morgan and Jenn's house. We Skyped Josh's family since the twins were here and Kendal and Matt were in SC. It was nice to catch up and see everyone. Then we watched the second session of conference and headed home. Josh had a work meeting on Sunday night (yes, on my birthday). So I went to that with him and then we came home. Alyson and Nathan brought me delicious pumpkin chocolate chip cookies on Sunday night and then Josh and I hit the sack. Monday morning Josh ran to Salt Lake to buy a baby swing we found on KSL and to do some birthday shopping, despite us discussing that we weren't going to get anything for our birthdays. I should have figured that wouldn't happen. He got home and we hung out, ate lunch and then I decided that for my birthday I wanted to take a drive up the canyon to look at the beautiful fall trees. So we packed up the car and headed into the canyon. It was beautiful!

The winding roads must have made Elliott sick (despite sleeping through it) because as soon as stopped at the waterfall off the side of the road she threw up. And since she was just waking up and didn't know it was about to happen...it all came out her nose. We felt so bad! But she didn't seem the least bit bothered. She didn't cry or seem upset at all. Poor thing. We stopped at Bridal Veil Falls and took some pictures and then we found this cool bridge and walking path near the falls and took some pictures there. The weather was beautiful! It wasn't too cold at all and the trees were gorgeous.

[I love this picture!]

[Elliott loves her Bumbo. While I was getting ready on Monday I put her in it in front of the mirror and she stared at herself for 30 minutes while I got ready. It was so adorable!]

Then we rushed back home, I ran to the store to grab cake and then we headed to dinner. We planned a dinner with some close friends at Smash Burger. It is my favorite burger place here in town. I love it. I got a guacamole burger, sweet potato fries and I shared Josh's butterfinger shake! Yum. My friends were so sweet to bring me presents. Jacob and Val got both Josh and I (since his birthday is later this month) a fun game! We've never played it personally, but they swear it's fun. Alyson is taking me to get a pedicure! Woohoo. And Kelly got me this ADORABLE skirt from DownEast. Everyone totally spoiled me. Josh got me this beautiful necklace from Vintage Pearl. It has a little pearl and two charms. One says Elliott and the other says Josh. It hasn't come yet, it should come sometime this week. He also got me some fun drinks, some fall decorations for the house, beautiful cubic zirconium earrings and a gift card to the app store. And then he picked something out to be from Elliott. She got me this hilarious book that he knew I loved. It's called "Boo. The world's cutest dog." It's this ridiculous looking little dog and the people make little stories with him by dressing him up and other random things. It's so silly, but I find it hilarious. Dinner was fabulous! I just love my friends so much. After dinner we came back to our place for dessert. I picked out angel food cake with strawberries and whipped cream. Yum. And then Alyson, Nathan and Kelly stayed to play some games. We played Guillotine and Uno. It was a lot of fun.  Overall, it was a fabulous birthday spent with fabulous people! Thanks everyone!

[Here is a picture of the book Elliott got me]

(I'm annoyed I didn't take any pictures at dinner or during dessert or games! Grrr..)

On a side note...I don't use the mesh thing in Elliott's bath anymore. She just sits in it like a big girl. She enjoys her baths way more now. She isn't completely stable, but she does pretty darn good!

And just a cute picture to end on. She just loves her daddy.
