I've recently noticed a few things about myself that I was never quite aware of. These are just little things I do that don't really make sense, or are a little weird.
If someone near me sneezes or coughs, I hold my breath for 15 seconds.
If I look down while I'm walking, and remember that there are cracks, I can't step on them. I pace out my steps so I don't hit a crack.
When I walk past someone who is breathing loud, coughing or looks sick, I hold my breath until I feel their wind pass me.
And last, I count stairs. I only count when I go down though, not up. I can tell you how many stairs there are in almost every staircase on campus. Leading up to campus from the west by the RB there are 90 followed by 10 to the JFSB. From south of campus there are 138 on one case. On another there are 77. That particular stair case has 10 then a ramp, then 20, a flat area, 39 and then it splits with 8 each way. Weird, right? I also know that each floor on the JFSB has 40 stairs. Each level differs in how much each of the 4 sets has. The one I use most often has 8, 11, 10, 11. What's weird is, I don't consciously count, it just happens in my mind and then when I get to the bottom I realize there's a number in my head.
So now you probably think I'm crazy...but I bet you could think of a few weird things you do...right?

i don't step on lines or cracks either!
ReplyDeleteHave you seen Monk? I do 80% of the things he does. You are totally not weird. Totally normal. At least, I think so. :)
