I love the holiday season. The closer it gets the more I start thinking about what means the most to me. I start thinking about my family, friends, the gospel, etc.
You all know that Josh is training to get his private pilot's license right now at UVU. Yesterday a UVU plane went down just south of Provo. In the plane was a UVU student (a 25 year old male who was on his last practice flight before his big test to get his license) and his instructor (a 34 year old female who was married and has 2 young children). Both the student and the instructor were killed upon impact. It was a truly humbling experience for both of us. Josh was not scheduled to fly yesterday, but we heard about the news shortly after it happened. It's times like this that make me fall into the trap of thinking, why do bad things happen to good people? Sometimes it's hard to remember that Heavenly Father has a plan for each of us and while his plan may not be what we expected, he is all knowing and we must trust him. All of the Provo airport UVU planes have been grounded for the rest of the week. Josh was scheduled to fly today but will not fly again until at least Monday. In case you're wondering, this is the aviation department's first fatality. There have been a handful of crash landings but nothing this serious. If you're interested in reading more, here is the link to the news story. It's unknown, and probably will be for a long time, what caused the crash.
When things like this happen, it always makes me appreciate life just that much more.
I'm so thankful that Josh was not on that plane. Our thoughts and prayers go out to both of the victim's families, especially during the holiday season. It is such a sad, sad situation.
I am thankful for the breath of life.
I am thankful for shelter over my head.
I am thankful for a living, breathing, wonderful, loving husband.
I am thankful for the true gospel of which I am a part of.
I am thankful for a university to study at.
I am thankful for my wonderful family.
I am thankful for the wonderful family that I married into.
I am thankful for goodly parents.
I am thankful for the blessing of friends.
But mostly, I am thankful for a loving Father in Heaven who shows his love to us every day in so many ways.
We all have so much to be thankful for. Very nice post. Love you.
