Currently Josh and I are both working through the last couple weeks of school before finals hit but we have had a lot of fun over the past few weeks. Mom arrived last Friday, early evening. That Saturday was one of our busiest. I threw Desiree's shower that day followed by a trip down to Spanish Fork for the festival of colors. After we cleaned up it was off to Applebees with Desiree, Justin, Des's cousins and Alyson for some dinner and then Josh and I headed to a work party.
(At Festival of Colors. I'm on the left with the bandana and glasses)
(Josh didn't get to go this year because of work, so I went with Alyson, Desiree and Alex)
That Sunday was our goodbye BBQ for Morgan and Jenn who headed out on Monday. We already miss them terribly but I am finding that the time we'll see them again is approaching faster and faster everyday!
With mom here we stayed busy seeing Joe and Karen nearly everyday and doing things around town. Mom left yesterday morning and our life is only getting busier.
We leave for North Carolina on April 24th. We found a really sweet couple to rent our place to during the summer. I'm excited to getting some money on the place instead of paying the full rent while we are gone. I'm not excited about moving everything we own into a storage garage while we're gone though.
Josh has been working on his uncle's house here in Provo while his uncle is living in Vegas. The house is beautiful and finally finished. While we still go up and clean it once a week, the hard part is done!
Some of Josh's family arrived in Provo yesterday for conference. His Aunt and Uncle from Kennewick and some family from South Carolina as well. We did dinner with them last night at Chinese Buffet and then hung out at his uncle's house until nearly 2am. We woke up exhausted but ready for some inspiration from the Bretheren.
We both loved the sessions of conference today. They were so wonderful and, as always, completely inspiring. I particularly enjoyed Elder Holland's talk, but I always do! :)
During and in between conference I worked on my children's book. I am writing and illustrating a children's book for my music class. It is turning out much better than anticipated and I can't wait to have it bound and on my shelf for when we have our own kids! Who would have known I would be an author/illustrator...sort of! :)
School is getting busier by the day. I have 7 days of classes left until finals. Josh has a little more but his classes are entirely online so he can take his finals whenever he wants. Lucky...
I'm actually looking forward to finals. It means an end to all the madness of assignments, papers, lesson plans and projects!
I'm currently working on or still need to finish the final draft of my research paper, my children's book, recording my singing assignments, reading 800 pages of children's novels, writing 8 book reviews (4 of which I finished today), memorizing and teaching a dance for my dance class, writing a resume and cover letter, taking one last math midterm and doing a write-up of my hours spent in class with an autistic child for my children with disabilities class.
As you can see, there is a lot on my plate.
I also bought a new swimsuit today. I splurged this year on one that I really like! I can't wait for it to come.
One of my favorite parts is the back!
On top of school Josh and I are trying to plan all of our summer trips so that we can give Morgan our dates for the summer. We have Tommy's wedding in August, a trip to VA to see Jamie and a trip to Utah to see Karen's baby, gran, grandad and mom! Phew. It's going to be crazy, but I can't wait!
After school is finished we'll have 3 days to finish packing up our house and be on the road!
Life is crazy but it's completely fantastic!
