Elliott's birthday this year was amazing. Every year it gets better. You think they understand it all and are enjoying it all until you see them the next year!
Since we were moving on Elliott's actual birthday, we planned it for the week before we left. We also planned it down in Provo since most of our friends and family are down that way anyways.
We had the party at the park. The forecast was for rain and storms all day. I was feeling a little stressed out. But before making any big plans to move it, I waited it out and sure enough, Utah pulled through. The weather was gorgeous and not too hot. I spent the morning getting ready, making the cake and prepping all the last minute things. Then when Josh got off, we headed down to Provo.
All of our friends were able to make it to the party. I was so thankful. Because not only was it a party for Elliott, it was a goodbye for us and most of our friends.
Elliott's theme this year was picked by her.
Dinosaurs. She recently became obsessed with dinosaurs. I'm really not sure where it stems from. But it's adorable so we ran with it. I didn't go all out, but I had fun with the theme and I think it turned out great.

We played pin the tail on the dinosaur. And smash the dinosaur egg. The kids
loved smashing those ice eggs. Oh man, it was a huge hit. Some of the kids were better than others. And some of the kids might have been really close to hammering their legs off, but we survived it and no one was injured. :)
The food was simple but still tied into the theme and we just had a blast. She was spoiled as always. Everyone was so thoughtful and gave her small gifts, gifts that could be used before our trip or gift cards.

After the party wrapped up, we had the difficult part of saying goodbye. We had to say goodbye to Alex and Henry (who is expecting her first baby!), Desiree and Justin (who is expecting her second!), Karen and all her kids and Alyson and Nathan. I was so thankful Alyson could be there for the party. She just happened to be in town and so she was able to come. It was hard and there were tears. I will miss everyone so much! But I'm so glad that our goodbyes were celebrating sweet Elliott turning 3!
