Since we were in Washington when Elliott turned 7 months, I took photos the day before we left. But I completely spaced doing the monthly blog post for her. Well, Elliott is 7 months old! About 7 and a half now! Crazy.
Shortly before her 7 month birthday, she had her 6 month checkup at the pediatrician. She has fallen down on her percentiles quite significantly. She dropped to the 60th% on weight and the 40th% for height. The doctor didn't seem too concerned, but he wasn't very happy about it. I'm not that concerned, to be honest. After talking through her sleeping and eating schedule with him, we decided that she was most likely not getting enough to eat. She was nursing 3-4 times a day and eating solids once a day. She is now nursing 4 times a day and eating solids 3 times a day. I already feel like I can tell a difference in her weight. But we'll see at her next appointment I suppose.
Elliott is getting more adorable by the minute. Is that possible? This month she has begun mastering standing up while holding something. She doesn't pull herself up but if I stand her near anything - the wall, the mirror, the towel rack, the tv stand, the couch - she holds on and stands up. She seems to love it. I sometimes wonder if she will start stepping and trying to walk along stuff before she crawls!
She still seems pretty disinterested in crawling. She hates to be on her stomach. She will immediately roll onto her back. She doesn't hate being on her back anymore (once she learned to sit up, she went through a time where she didn't want to lay down anymore) which is nice. She will play sitting up, standing up or laying down. But the stomach, nope. She does like laying on her stomach on either me or Josh, so that is how we do a majority of our tummy time. She even pulls up to her knees when she's doing that. So, she will get there.
This month she has also started kissing. It was probably right around her 7 month birthday. But she is doing it all the time now. I absolutely adore it. They are big, open mouth kisses full of slobber, but we love them. She will even kiss her doll.
Elliott has really come full circle with sleeping at night and naps this month. I have tried to not complain too much about her sleeping, because compared to some babies I know, she is a rockstar. But it's really only comparative to what you are used to, so when she had bad days, it was hard! But this month, even on our trip to WA, she has been sleeping without a binky, going down for bed and naps without any tears and sleeping through the night! And she typically takes 2 good 2-3 hour naps during the day (sometimes 3). What more could I ask for?!
