The next day (the 27th) we woke up, packed up and headed to the beach! Myrtle Beach is a little less than a three hour drive from Columbia. Elliott slept the whole way. We stayed in a different place than we usually do this year. It had 5 bedrooms which meant that almost everyone got their own room. Laurie and Bronson had the master suite with a huge jacuzzi tub. Josh's uncle Adam and Aunt Yanni had the next biggest bedroom with personal bathroom. We got our own bedroom and bathroom. Morgan and Jenn had their own room and then the twins and Laurie's mom shared a room. That just leaves...Kendal and Matt. They slept on a blow-up mattress in the living room until Sunday when Adam and Yanni left for NYC. It's only fair though, since they're the newlyweds. ha!
Myrtle Beach was a blast this year. Since we had 3 babies there, we didn't go out and do as much as we typically do. We spent a lot of time at the beach. We went to the pool twice and then mostly hung around the house. It was a little chilly this year, so our time on the beach was spent bundled up nice and warm, but the beach was as beautiful as ever!
One of the days all of us but Laurie and Bronson ventured out to go see Les Mis. Josh and I left Elliott with the grandparents. They also had Jane and Kate too. About halfway through the movie we started getting frantic texts from Bronson that the babies were hungry (Elliott and Kate, not Jane). They were comical at first, but they slowly seemed more serious. Jenn, Morgan and I slipped out of the movie and headed back. Once all the babies had fallen asleep Laurie snuck out to go grocery shopping. To Bronson's dismay, Elliott and Kate woke up! And they were both very fussy. They both cried for an hour before he called us! By the time we got back, Laurie had gotten back and both babies were calmed down. :) But we fed them and put them down to bed. (We did get to go back and see the second half later in the week!)
We played lots of games, got to see a bunch of Laurie's family (they were staying in a hotel just down the road from us) and ate so, so much food.
Unfortunately, a few of us were sick while we were there. Morgan and Hannah had it the worst. Morgan had a double ear infection and Hannah had a sinus infection. Laurie and Bronson were just getting over colds. Elliott got pretty sick while we were there and was a pretty miserable sleeper. But she is feeling lots better now!
We also spent New Years at Myrtle Beach. We rang in the new year eating fondue, throwing paper airplanes off the 7th story of our condo, and lighting sparklers. After midnight we all sat around talking about our new years resolutions. It was a great night. Thanks to Laurie and Bronson for funding the trip! It was so much fun!
